چکیده
The wetting behavior of droplets aqueous surfactant solutions over hydrophobic thin PVDF porous membrane and non-porous film is investigated for small (~10 μL) trisiloxane solutions: superspreader S 240. time dependencies contact angle, droplet radius, wetted area volume were monitored as well penetration into the substrate. It shown that fast spreading takes place both in case substrates at a concentration above some critical concentration. was found penetrate disappear much faster than on corresponding substrate, which not observed before. This phenomenon referred to “superpenetration”.

Why do aqueous surfactant solutions spread over hydrophobic substrates?
Spreading of aqueous surfactant solution droplets over hydrophobic substrates proceeds in one slow stage at concentration of surfactants below some critical value and in two stages if the surfactant concentration is above the critical value: the fast and relatively short first stage is followed by a slower second stage. It is shown that the kinetics of a slow spreading at concentrations below t...
متن کاملModeling surfactant adsorption on hydrophobic surfaces.
Surfactant adsorption on hydrophobic surfaces is of current interest in attempts to solubilize single-wall carbon nanotubes and to render quantum dots biocompatible. A coarse grained method is presented for incorporating a hydrophobic surface into existing liquid force fields by appealing to statistical mechanics and probability theory. The dimensionality problem which arises is overcome with a...
متن کاملEvaporation of droplets on strongly hydrophobic substrates.
The manner in which the extreme modes of droplet evaporation (namely, the constant contact radius and the constant contact angle modes) become indistinguishable on strongly hydrophobic substrates is described. Simple asymptotic expressions are obtained which provide good approximations to the evolutions of the contact radius, the contact angle, and the volume of droplets evaporating in the extr...
متن کاملOn surfactant-enhanced spreading and superspreading of liquid drops on solid surfaces
The mechanisms driving the surfactant-enhanced spreading of droplets on the surface of solid substrates, and particularly those underlying the superspreading behaviour sometimes observed, are investigated theoretically. Lubrication theory for the droplet motion, together with advection–diffusion equations and chemical kinetic fluxes for the surfactant transport, leads to coupled evolution equat...
متن کاملSpreading of Trisiloxanes EO3 and EO9 Polyethylene Oxide Surfactant over Hydrophobic Substrates
The spreading of aqueous dispersions of trisiloxane with various polyethylene oxide chain length surfactant solutions over hydrophobic surfaces is considered from experimental point of view. It is shown that the transfer of surfactant molecules from the droplet onto the hydrophobic surface changes the wetting characteristics in front of the drop making them useful in waterbased coatings for pla...
